Welcome!

Please note that this site is still under the early stages of construction.

“The Newth/Nuth Family History Society” was formed in the 1970’s with the first Newsletter published in 1979. The name was then changed in 1993 to “The Newth Family History Society” and continued until its demise in 1999 with the publication of 32 Newsletters. I joined the society in 1991 and worked closely with Alan Newth the then Editor & Archivist.

Within my data I have retained the family reference numbers used by the society with the first letter denoting the main trees G for Gloucestershire, W for Wiltshire, S for Somersetshire, H for Horsley and L for London the number then defines the family group. The number following the - was the person’s membership number of the society. I have published all the Newsletters on this site, if anyone is mentioned in them it should be indicated within the person’s notes as 21:3,6,8,, indicating newsletter 21 pages 3, 6 & 8.

I have been researching the surnames NEWTH and ALLERY since the 1980’s with the marriage of my great-great-grandparents William ALLERY and Mary NEWTH on the 27 Oct 1842 at St Mary Newington, they have the family reference G056 from Mary’s father Adrian NEWTH b.5 Apr 1790 d.28 Apr 1874
